In the late 90's to early 00's, Ford and GM spent a lot of money developing the SUVs as the market was shifting in that direction. They basically left their sedans to rot and found themselves way behind their competitors when the market shifted back towards sedans

Those things don't even look safe. Most American cars have been cheap pieces of shite since the mid 80s.
I miss the real daily driving family vehicles from the 70s with the large leather seats and 425 ci engines. Things just floated down the highway so smooth
