To answer you on th 175 it will be fine. THose hulls perform well with a 150 but having a max hp of 200 is helpful.

My sho with 3 people, full tank, two ice chest and fishing gear with run 58 mph and cruise at 40 at 4K Rpms and sip gas.

I would buy one with a 175 zuke in a heartbeat. There is a red one equipped well for 30k with low hours dude was trying to move it on sportsman

Have you looked at Epic? They are the old vip molds tweaked as well as has a full resin infused hull. They did a great job in my opinion on the Design. They are a wake board boat company but decided to enter the Bay boat market when they acquired VIP. They took to customer opinions on design and designed their boats with these suggestions in mind. The 23 SC is awesome. The 22 seems so much smaller. I have a 23 SC and with a Yamaha 150 on it and love it. I bought it new last spring. When I looked at it, it had a Yamaha 200 on it and the dealer was asking 38. I saw one at Blue dot Marine in New Orleans last week for mid 30s I believe when I was passing through. I think it was a 200 motor but its last years model. I only saw it from the road.

The boats have tons of storage and a huge front insulated fish box. I added a Custom T top from coastline marine in Houston and I can top out about 43-44 Mph with 3-4 people on it. Very dry ride and handles waves well. It also has 2 live wells with pumps and aerators standard. Underwater fish lights come standard on most as well. plenty of lockable rod storage (2 boxes), anchor storage, jump seat storage, leaning post storage, and 2 rear storage boxes with a middles smaller compartment that has a shelf built in for Trawling motor batteries and On board charger.

I use one of the rear boxes for the main crank battery and my back up with the switch installed inside as well. My 2 trawling motor batteries are mounted in the center bay with a 4 bank charger. The other cool feature is that there is a fabricated trawling motor base in the nose for mounting as well as has a plate with an outlet for the motor as well as trim controls on the front of the boat.

Check out the links below as there are endless options but for what I do, I love it and couldn't be happier
