He did most of his defining in the 90s.

Nope.

He played the same number of years in both decades (member he took a break). All of his personal bests came from his 80s teams: games played, games started, minutes per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, blocks per game, steals per game, points per games. All 80s

Same story in the playoffs. Mostly 80s for personal bests

You're saying MJ did most of his defining in the 80s, not the 90s?

Michael's probably top 5 player that decade, have to remember this is the decade when Isiah, Dominique, Moncrief, Hakeem, Barkley, McHale, Moses thrived and achieved more playoff success than the Bulls. For the first 6 seasons, old-arse Kareem was arguably among the very best players in basketball that time.

Sorry Charlie.... As good as MJ was in the late 80's... he is best known and will always be considered a 90's generation player...

Jordan won ALL of his titles in the 90's. Thats what made him the icon he is, not his personal bests

Well first of all:

quote:

games played, games started

No. Unless you want to claim he tied his numbers in the 90s. He started 82 games 5 times in the 90s and 3 times in the 80s

Most of those other stats he has slightly better numbers in 89 then his 90s numbers. Otherwise, his 90s numbers are better.

Also, hard to define a generation with zero titles and 1 MVP. A lot easier with 6 titles and 4 MVPs.
