Hike to explore the city on foot. There are some great hidden staircases all over the city and parks that offer fantastic views. Take n-Judah muni line (light rail) to golden gate park for the afternoon. In the park are the Japanese tea gardens, de young museum, and cal academy of science. Walk through the park to ocean beach and the cliff house. If you want to make for a really long hike, take the lands end trail from sutra baths, close to cliff house, to the gg bridge and then along the waterfront back to the ferry building ( about a 10 mile easy hike from ocean beach to ferry building). Lands end hike is gorgeous and offers great views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the cliffs as well as being an easy hike.

21st Amendment Brewery (before and after Giants game)
Top of the Mark for drinks (awesome views of city)
Tonga Room and Hurricane Bar in the basement of The Fairmont
Check out Lombard Street
Walk around Fort Mason with great views of the bay and Alcatraz
Haight Ashbury Festival is going on and looks interesting
Visit Cal Berkley
