Does anyone know if Beth gives pitching lessons? Just moved back to the area and heard that she does but have no way of finding out. If so how do you go about signing up? Any info greatly appreciated.

She had done it before at Marucci's facility in groups. NCAA div 1 coaches cannot do it individually. not sure about now. call marucci up. sometimes LSU pitchers would give lessons there. If britney Mack still lived in red stick i could hook you up with her but she is in shreveport now. We used britney and emily turner before. not sure what emily is up to nowadays. Have not talked to her in awhile.

Emily looks completely different now than she did in college. Last time I saw her I almost didn't recognize her.
And for the OP, maybe email Coach Leftwich...she could probably point you in the right direction.

Beth does do group lessons at Cypress Mounds. Now that the season is over they should be kicking off soon. Probably after their camps that are next week. Lindsey would be a good contact or Melissa Brown, the volunteer coach she sends out the emails updating the status of the group lessons/clinics. I am on that mailing list and have not gotten an update yet. Traction recently purchased Cypress Mounds hopefully that doesn't impact the clinics.

Any truth to the rumor that she is giving pitching lessons to one of CLM"s daughters?

lindsey usually handles the camp part.

Yes his youngest daughter is out there at times. Like said earlier college coaches are not allowed to do 1-1 lessons.

Maybe Torina should spend more time this off season revamping her teams offensive approach, and let someone else do pitching camps.

I think they can but the prospect must live within 50 miles of the school.
They can coach club but not high school. There are weird rules out there.

No time to dog on Coach Torina we are lucky to have her. Our offense sucked this tournament no doubt but I have faith she knows that.

that only applies to travel ball/club teams if said coach is helping them in some manner. We are talking individual here. A college coach is not allowed to do individual instruction with a "prospective student-athlete." a prospective student-athlete is defined by any kid in the 9th grade or higher. The group instruction that can be performed is a group of 4 or more prospective student-athletes at a time. There has to be at least 4 individuals receiving the lesson otherwise it is considered a violation of NCAA policy I have had Coach J at nicholls confirm this. She still only does group lessons with kids below 9th grade to play it safe. There are also "dead periods" during signing times and the college world series when they are not allowed to have any HS players on campus.
this is the rule you are talking about
quote:
13.11.2.4 Local Sports Clubs. In sports other than basketball, an institution’s coach may be involved in any capacity (e.g., as a participant, administrator or in instructional or coaching activities) in the same sport for a local sports club or organization located in the institution’s home community, provided all prospective student-athletes participating in said activities are legal residents of the area (within a 50-mile radius of the institution). ...
The 50 mile radius is to prevent coaches from forming a team and then bringing all the kids that they are recruiting in to play for the team.

So Beth should just say she coaches for the club. And then train the kid individually as their club coach.

Nobody has ever lost a game giving up zero runs.
