Not even the best Auburn since 1990 (2004). You can just judge teams based on solely their schedule. You also look at the roster and save an all time player in Newton, that 2010 Auburn team wasn't that great. That Miami team was loaded with talent and people knew it at the time, they would likely crush 10 Auburn.

As for the 2004 versus 2010 Auburn teams, it's debatable. 2004 had more quality players, but 2010 had the best overall player. 2010 played a much tougher schedule as well. It's a hard call.

Yes, they were loaded with talent but a lot of it wasn't developed into what they were in the NFL yet and they were very poorly coached.
They barely beat 8-4 Virginia Tech and 8-4 Boston College. Those teams were QB'd by all-time greats, Grant Noel and Brian St. Pierre...
The best QB thag Miami team faced was Chris Rix
8 of the 12 teams that 01 Miami played threw more INTs on the season than TDs
How do you think their defense would have adjusted from that type of QB play to Cam Newton?
And Auburn's defense would have fared better than most would think.
Ken Dorsey and those Miami RBs are a good comparison to Greg McElroy and the 2010 Bama RBs who the 2010 Auburn defense held in check.
There would be no crushing going on.
