Friend of mine has a master in entomology and has been in the business for over 20 years.
Was talking with him about the recent thread on Brown Recluse bites and he just sent me this article on the misdiagnosis and actual range of this arachnid. Good info here

People worry about the dumbest shite. I am an avid outdoorsman and have never been bitten by a spider or snake, yet people are terrified of them. frick wasps and hornets tho

Those little frickers are notorious for hanging around in mailboxes if you don't check your mail often.
Had one say hello once on the back of an envelope as I was going thru mail on countertop on day.
Fast too when I tried to squish him.

I've worked in the ER 14 years and people come in all day, every day saying they have a "spider bite" when it's a damn boil/abscess

Black widows are abundant where I'm at in New Mexico. I see several a week around the house.
