You're reading things and sensationalizing what people are saying

We signed one of the best backs in NFL history to a very team friendly deal, who last time we saw him in 2015 led the league in attempts yards and TD at age 30. Age 30, he's already debunked your age myth

His injury wasn't serious

He's Adrian Peterson

He earned an optimistic outlook from a fan base until proven otherwise. This isn't blind optimism like people saying ted ginn will go for 1500 yards and 10 TDs

Did 2016 not count or something? He played three games before he got hurt and he sucked.

As for unrealistic expectations, I'm basing my comments on things like the number of threads on here about him and the fact that it seems like he's the No. 1 Saints topic for every caller on a national show.

I get it. I'm in the minority in that I'm not really excited about him. I don't care that he's a HOFer. So was Champ Bailey.

"He's Adrian Peterson." What does that even mean? Joe Montana is Joe Montana. That doesn't mean he's still a good NFL QB.

His injury was serious enough to make him miss most of the season after looking like arse when he did play. In three games last year he averaged less than 2 YPC...

I'd say expectations are way too high based on name and ridiculous comments like those by Heath Evans.

Also, I didn't say anything about the age "30." I specifically looked up age 32.

Do some research on a meniscus tear

and MIN graded out as the 30th run blocking unit last season. They were terrible.

Saints graded out as the best.

Offensive Line statistics

You need to have some context here.

2016 AD only had 37 total carries in Pat Shurmer's shotgun heavy offense - and the splits on AD in shotgun vs. QB under center are dramatic and well-documented. The Vikings as a team were dead last in NFL rushing yards (1205) and yards per carry (3.2).

The Saints on other hand, rushed for 500+ more yards (1742) than Vikings, with a full 1.1 better yard per carry (4.3) avg, and are a relatively low NFL shotgun formation team (55%). CSP isn't going to try to square peg into a round hole.
