He would have been a proven, experienced addition to next year's team. Certainly a guy who would have likely been your "go-to" scorer. That said, I think Sampson can be the same type of player if Wade can get consistent effort and play out of him.

The silver lining is that LSU is ok a guard even without Alstork and regardless, he would have only been a one-year addition.

To me, the bigger impact of the signing would be a small sample of proof of Wade's ability to out-recruit other big name programs. Not a program changing loss, but a guy LSU certainly would have loved to have.
