Also...why did the show completely gloss over the fact that Koob said the cops had a wrapped up "V" and tossed it on the table in front of him? No one followed up on this? Not to mention the fact that Koob claimed she rejected his proposal days before she went missing (in the first episode) and then in the last episode she supposedly wrote this letter saying she wanted to bear his children.
The Koob angle was very odd to me in that the series investigators didn't seem to delve more into the possibility that he could have been involved.

They asked the Baltimore County cop about it. My takeaway was sometimes they used fake/staged gruesome gambits like that in their good cop/bad cop routines.
