True. I am sure Fangraphs wrote a ton about Yonder Alonso never having a chance to be a legit starting first baseman with the bat. Sure it took time, but talented hitters can make adjustments.

There is a lot there for sure, but it makes sense.
He got a lot of pitches he could drive last year, and that was essentially what drove his AVG/SLG.
Now it seems like he's stuck when to hit the ball in the air and when to hit it on the ground. Since he's hitting more balls on the ground (that he doesn't hit very hard) and getting less liners/Flyballs his AVG/SLG is down.
