With fresh picked yellow squash, I like to cut off the stem, wrap individually in foil and bake on 350 until tender. When done, I split down the middle, put some butter on it which will melt instantly since it's so hot and then add S&P. Sometimes, I sprinkle a little fresh parm. You can put it back in the oven if you want to brown the parm a little, but I don't usually do that. Delicious without burying the fresh picked flavor like some casseroles do. There are some casserole recipes out there that aren't too heavy and preserve the flavor. Maybe a simple gratin.
I have one or two soup recipes, also.
You can slice and saute in some butter or oil until soft with S&P.
ETA: Cavender's is a good seasoning for it. I would use it rather than Tony's.

Cut it in circles. Salt, Pepper, paprika and a touch of olive oil into a ziplock in fridge.
To cook get your pan, cover it with aluminum foil and bake 375 for 20 minutes.

You can cut in half, slightly hollow, and fill with Italian sausage, panko, Parmesan and Roma tomato. Roast in oven. Google squash boats and there should be some recipes online. That shite is off the hook!
If you want it healthier, use ground turkey and add fenil to make it taste like Italian sausage.

I like 2 make squash fritters just like my gr8 grammable used 2 make - she would shred 'em, onion 'em, egg 'em, bread crumbs 'n fry 'em up and dip them in the Tar Tar sauce. YUM SUPER YUM!
