But we don't really have beaches down there, do we? And that's what they were saying. Sure, there's Grand Isle, but that isn't really a huge destination or would even be in most people's top 100 beaches in the South. It's not like Destin, Navarre, Orange Beach, or South Padre Island. Louisiana kind of got screwed in that department, in that we have marshland.

Technically, I believe the Gulf of Mexico is a semi-enclosed, partially land-locked, intercontinental, marginal sea, not "the ocean".
