Keep in mind Google has a history of introducing products and not following through on them. Most of there stuff stays in beta forever and it is either abandoned or never updated.
Amazing is the leader in this segment and I don't see them giving that up. AWS is perhaps the major player in hosting and data storage for the world and Alexa leverages that platform.

You think google is going to just abandon google assistant from android phones?
