We know why Hinch uses Sipp. He has an 8-man pen to keep all of them fresh, so he has to use Sipp. But we know he doesn't want to do it because Hinch is not clinically insane.
Sipp is on year two of a trainwreck 3-year, $18 million deal. Luhnow is not ready to call it sunken cost -- yet.

It's telling that the only LHP in the pen has been relegated to 1-inning mop-up stints in blowouts. And there was someone warming in the pen. Can't imagine Sipp wouldn't pass through waivers, and even better if he was claimed. Might see him sent down when Gustave is healthy.
