Looks like I'll be in Mexico City during the fall for a week. Would love some recommendations from those who are familiar with the city. I'd also like to somehow get to Oaxaca City during my stay. Thanks in advance!

Mexico City is fun place to visit. I like the Polanco, Condessa, Reforma, and Zona Rosa neighborhoods.
Polanco is the upscale area. Condessa is full of artists and expats a lot of cool bars and restaurants. Reforma and Zona Rosa are right next to each other.
I would checkout Zocala, but only during the day. The Palacio de Bellas Arts is right near there and worth seeing as well.
Getting around the city is cheap but always congested with traffic. Uber is cheaper and easily available or if you're staying at a hotel have the concierge arrange a car for hire for the day, I wouldn't pay more than $80 usd for that though.

Oaxaca is about 6 hours drive from Mexico city.
You may want to visit Puebla. It is a colonial city, site of the Cinco de Mayo battle, and its suburb Cholula has been continually inhabited for about 3000 years. Puebla is about an hour and 45 minutes from Mexico City.
