What does this mean? Not being pessimistic but I don't understand how a big time college had to "learn" how to monitor hamstrings especially since he had surgery on them right after high school.

Looking for something more specific, but they took to monitoring them in the 2016 camp. I heard they used some kind of analysis to help monitor them but don't recall what.

So... he had surgery right after high school.

He redshirted, while his team won the national title. Sounds like they had a ton of talent, and eased him back without rushing and maybe ruining him.

His final year was without issue, so it seems like they did it conservatively, and correctly.

People just like to bitch and worry about things. Lattimore had a very gentle recovery from his hamstring issues (the total opposite of, say, Skip Bertman burning up his pitcher's arms in college baseball), and suddenly folks are fretting that he is a disaster.

Anzalone recovered from his serious injury to be a dominant player at Florida until he broke his forearm in a freakish manner, and he's also a waste. Newsflash- a broken forearm is a meaningless injury, it killed some time but people recover 100% from that. Heck, it probably gave him time to better rehab his old injuries more.

Kamara- his overall totals aren't good because he platooned with Hurd. He's fresh... but somebody will bitch about him not being able to carry the load, I'm sure.

Hendrickson- found a small school stud that might match the top choices; the guy MIGHT be even better when he isn't the clear focus of every opponent. But he's just a reach who didn't play top competition.
