How are you suppose to know if you're in the first 1000? Also , it looks like you get 100 for signing up and if you're in the first 1000 to register you get an additional 100 . Am I reading that wrong ?

They are announcing when they hit 1,000. It appears that you can still get the 100 DNA tokens upon registration.
