Houston is a better food city than New Orleans but not by a huge margin

I would hope HOU had more variety and better restaurants overall than Nola with 7X the population to serve 
The fact Nola is even in this argument in this thread is a huge testament to the city, food culture, and residents that know and support cuisine better than anywhere in the US.

Houston doesn't get enough credit at times but it's not better than NOLA. Well at least not until those 25 Dat Dogs open.
