Find a local roaster. Buy them freshly roasted.
This is more important than the brand.

I like your style. There is a roaster in Addison, TX I have had my eye on.

This. Or go to a local coffee shop that roasts or has the date printed on their bag and buy them.
If you are stuck with the grocery store, I like Peets.

Who do you like around Shreveport?
I've bought from Kern Has Coffee at the Farmers Market and liked his products. Have not tried his delivery service.
