Having a negative opinion of Roberts is fine.
But let's be honest, stuff like this, on this board, is not the product of anything Roberts did. It's the product of the desire to get mad and be outraged without having to mess with learning about the subject matter.
It's indicative of the larger problem whereby everyone has to be passionate about controversial subjects even if they don't know about them and normally wouldn't care about taking a position.

if its okay for Roberts to ask questions to microscope the issue, its fair game for his arse to be put under the scope, that isn't flipping out

truth be known, he needs to sthu about a matter which may very well come before the Court...he is more than welcome to discuss the weather

Another reason why even republicans should rank George w retard as the worst president of our lifetimes

Then none of us are American citizens.
This adherence to "letter of the law" when life is not at all black and white is psychopathic.
All of you would be chomping at the mouth with excuses if you were in the defendants shows.
Hypocritical at best. And a lie to say y'all have never used the spirit of the law in your own lives

Wow, son. I'm a little embarrassed for you. Yeah, he'd better shut up just in case this comes before the court.

The Bush family showed their true political leanings with some of their choices for the Supreme Court.

Second time in the thread a comment like that has been made.

Better yet, this desire to bend the law is idiotic at best. The law is the law, if she lied on the application then she lied on the application.
If I go to buy a firearm and I lie on the application but it was only a little white lie, is it still ok for me to purchase the firearm OR should I be prosecuted for telling a lie?

me too...misunderstood the original post, my error
Posted on 4/27/17 at 12:53 pm to Pettifogger
That has been one of the most entertaining threads I have read since someone asked why Sessions didn't remove federal judges.
Posted on 4/27/17 at 12:59 pm to Pettifogger
It's not these specific questions, just that his questioning here is more indicative of a wider pattern Roberts has taken of being Compassionate Conservative.

Anyone who tries to read anything into oral argument questioning is a fool.
Taking contrary positions and letting counsel shoot you down happens a lot. It's the oral argument equivalent of serving up a pitch in a homerun derby.

Its pretty obvious that it is not Chief Justice Roberts or I who is the dumbfrick.

I don't agree with Robert's ultra-conservative approach to the law but he can be sane occasionally.

Seriously?
I think half of you on this board need to be in a mental ward.

NO!
You must have no memory of his turning himself into a pretzel to come up with an idiotic ruling because pointing out the possibility that he is setting up to do it again is "flipping out".
If public figures want to be trusted they ought to act trustworthy.
