It's coming from a defensive coach but the word I got yesterday is that Etling has much to prove in the fall if he wants to lead this team. Watch out for LN. He needed the spring to get back in the mix but he has the abilities the OC wants to work with.

Etling was at least adequate last season. Maybe his back is really bothering him.

A defensive coach on the LSU staff? Or just some random defensive coach who watched the spring game?
Actually, I don't guess it really matters, because this basically goes along with what Orgeron said last night.

I hope this isn't the case I hope they give him another year to rehab. Plus if this was true why did he only get 2 snaps in the last scrimmage? Not trying to bash the OP just asking a question.

Apparently the offense really isn't that complex. Hopefully Narcisse grasps enough of it to be able to take over in the event Etling isn't cutting it. We need a QB that can throw hash to hash in order to see the full potential of what Canada's O tries to accomplish, and Etling just isn't that kind of arm talent.

the thing that stood out to me most was the qb designed runs between the tackles. was super excited about that

Word from practice is LN is not picking up on the play book, uncomfortable under center along with trying to learn to drop back. Etling getting almost all the reps with the ones.

Did this anonymous, non-existent "coach" give you a secret decoder ring too?

Etling is the starting QB.
Thinking otherwise is false hope.

I still say no matter how things he is...they are waiting on Brennan to show what he can do. No other reason to keep QB battle open

What was Hodson's weight his freshman year?

He asked about Hodson, not Russell.
