EPA definitely needed an entire overhaul, but do we have something in the works to help the clean up and make sure this is handled properly? And make sure this stuff is more preventable.

Do you have any suggestions?

Started building a pipeline a month ago?
Already has spill?
Spill is not oil or gas, but drilling fluid?
Something sounds weird about this story. Seems like maybe it was just a spaghetti string to get drilling fluid from one location to another, not a full on 48" buried oil pipeline across the nation.

Fine them into Bolivian (mike Tyson reference) and the next company that takes over will be better.

Nah, do you?
No, but then I am not the one wanting to "make things more preventable"...just wondering if you had any idea of how to actually do that.

Drilling fluid.
So basically a mixture of mud (?) and other products that really aren't harmful to the environment.

Drilling Fluid:
quote:
In geotechnical engineering, drilling fluid is used to aid the drilling of boreholes into the earth. Often used while drilling oil and natural gas wells and on exploration drilling rigs, drilling fluids are also used for much simpler boreholes, such as water wells. Liquid drilling fluid is often called drilling mud. The three main categories of drilling fluids are water-based muds (which can be dispersed and non-dispersed), non-aqueous muds, usually called oil-based mud, and gaseous drilling fluid, in which a wide range of gases can be used.

lol you're so full of shite. You want me to come up with a solution to a serious issue so you can tear it apart. You will contribute 0 help to this issue and only choose the side that applauds this stuff because it upset libtard environmentalists

You didn't even know what drilling fluid is before you started your outrage.

Yes I did I read the commments on the actual article.
"Outrage" eh? Nice buzz word. I sure flipped out.

dafuq?
Is it not reasonable to ask for a suggestion when you are the one making the request.

So far we have contributed the same amount, and you are throwing a tantrum for my insistence that you even put forth a suggestion. You started this conversation, not me.

It's just drilling fluid. That stuff won't hurt anything

No, let big business take care of itself, free market, less government.

Post an MSDS of Drilling Fluid?

Tantrum and outrage now. This discussion will be level headed I'm sure.

you certainly seem to be doing your best to ensure that it is not.
I mean, where have I been unreasonable here? What was so unpalatable about anything I wrote before you started accusing me of laying some Machiavellian trap to ensnare you in the name of Big Oil.

This isn't a "the pipeline shouldn't have even happened" discussion. There's two sides to these things and one side doubles down that the pipelines are perfectly safe for the environment. When something like this happens no one should be flipping out on the messenger about bringing it up. It happened. We dismantled the EPA, I even agreed with that, I was just asking if we have something to ensure this is maybe more preventable or someone is held accountable in the future.

I'd say it's your buzz words and hyperbole making it out to sound like I'm some green peace psycho that is saying LOL SEE I TOLD U!!1!. There's nothing wrong in me saying I have no suggestions but a discussion is at hand.
