Why is "A Knights Tale" not more popular?

This is one of my favorite movies of all time
It's got an A list cast (Heath Ledger, Alan Tudyk, Mark Addy, Paul Brittany to name a few)
Its got great music
It has some grounding in real history or at least historical people (Geoffery Chaucer of course, but Ulrich von Lichenstein and the other knights were real people as well)
It has a great story, likeable characters, awesome pacing, action, love, drama, emotion
Seriously this movie might be in my top 10

Never seen it but the no-talent douche who played the lead was probably the reason it sucked.

Which one? The gay Knight, the gay minute man (tee hee hee) or the gay cowboy?

The movie about the thread you're in

I probably should check it out, it did seem cheesy from the ads if I remember correctly. And at the time, nobody took Mr ledger seriously as anything more than a pretty face. Damn shame honestly.

I think the movies holds up btw, I know it's 16 years old now but it's still awesome

It's a very, very fun movie. The guy that presents Ulrich at the events is hysterical (Jarvis from Iron Man).
And by the way, here's the only reason any straight man needs to like the movie:
