Anyone use the laplace side of the bonnet carre spillway launch. I always launch on the Norco side bc I remember a few years back someone posting they messed up their trailer pretty bad at that launch and I hardly ever see boats launching on that side but it's closer to where I want to go water wise

I've used it in the past. Just stay in the middle and you will be fine.

It's very short. Not sure how big a boat you got but it's very short before the drop off. Be cautious during low tide especially if you have a large boat.

Any boat over 16 ft do not use. High tide or low tide your trailer will fall off the edge. I've seen axles pulled crooked. Couldn't get my godevil back up had to push off the trailer and back it down the side of the road by where the crab lines are to pick my boat up

Never used it to launch but when my lab was 3 or 4 months I'd go there to let him swim. I would get in and like others have said the dropoff is very close. I'd stay away from it.

this ^^^^^^^
the concrete stops like 10ft before the wooden sides do and its a sheer drop off 28ft deep according to the depth finder.
its ok to use as long as you remember not to float your boat on or off the trailer. you pretty much need to push the boat off the trailer and winch it over the last roller and winch it up dry to use that launch.
many many people have broken off axles right there and unless you have a mud boat with 8" tires on your trailer its not easy to launch there

Launch there all the time with an 18' boat but I've been doing it for years.
