I've done it over a dozen times but it just isn't for me and I have an extremely addictive personality. When I see the sun come up in the morning and I haven't been to sleep yet and don't see any in the future, I look in the mirror and call myself a piece of shite. And I like to party like the best of them. Just isn't for me. Every time I've tried it, I told myself after the weekend 'frick that noise' and it was several several months later when around it enough I said 'frick it' again. It's been probably almost a decade since I've done it and think I'm passed the points of 'frick it' any longer.

Serious question. Have you smoked crack before? I've heard the same shite everyone probably has about meth, crack and heroin.. After you do it for the first time, you are always chasing the feeling you had the first time you used it. While in college, there were several times I was at someone's apartment and saw the same person smoking with someone else.. She is married, with a couple of kids. You you met her and I told you I use to see her smoking crack you would never believe it.. So it is possible to use crack, meth, heroin as a "recreational drug"?

It's called chasing the ultimate high.

Crack is simply junk man. It get's you an extreme high that lasts for minutes. So of course people who do it want to just smoke rock after rock.

Meth typically becomes a problem for people who start mainlining it.

I won't speak for SS on H but it's the same.

The rush of doing those type of drugs in the manner they are done gives you a high that is the best feeling you've ever had multiplied by 10.

If a person ever hits that ultimate high then most likely there's no going back for them. That doesn't mean that snorting a line of coke is going to send you to rehab the rest of your life.

I'm not sure about crack or heroin, but meth was really popular in Los Angeles back around 2000 within the Russian community (I had/have a bunch of Russian friends). Most of the kids were able to use meth recreationally on the weekends to party, and not let it take over their lives. There were some kids that took it too far and would get strung out for a few days straight. Nobody I knew completely went off the deep end and ended up like those "faces of meth" people and ruined their lives. A couple people I know allowed drugs to ruin them, but it was heroin.

Like a few people mentioned, the first few hours of the high are enjoyable, but watching the sun come up and not being able to sleep sucks. Normal folks will feel like shite and just wait it out to sober up. It's the people that decide to do more that end up getting in trouble.

Edit- most everyone smoked it, which yields the least intense high. Some people snorted it. Nobody injected.

Yes. I can't think of much that I haven't done a handful of times at te least actually.

It's like I said earlier, if you have your bearings in a row and not trying to fill some void in your life that you act like isn't there, then I'd say 98% of the time you can have a rare weekend going crazy and you won't end up in rehab.

Obviously everyone is different and everyone if looking long enough is going to find their jam you know. But once you find your jam you need to make note that 'yeah that shite probably isn't right for my soul'.... see I wasnt one of those kids back in grade school that bought into saying away from things. I knew at a really young age that frick it I'll try anything at least once.

For the vast vast majority of addicts, the drug isn't the problem, it's the symptom of the underlying problems.

You might be able to kick Owlies arse depending on the size of the line you hit. So there's that to consider.

Most people that try that stuff end up not becoming addicted long term. I know a lot of people that did all kinds of shite in the 80s and 90s who were just fine, while only a relative few went off the deep end.
