re: 82 LSU versus Bama

Really strange team that year. Tie against a 6-5-1 Tennessee team and lost close games to 5-6 State team and 4-7 Tulane team. Then lost a 21-20 game to 12-1 Nebraska. Killed a good FSU team by 34 and beat decent Bama and UF teams away with relative ease. Won the rest very easy except a 14-6 win over a 4-7 S Carolina team. You never knew which LSU team would show up and Stovall was let go after the next season. That was a happy day however in Birmingham. LSU was 11 points from being unbeaten and untied.
