Few people remember the fight that took place when The Kingfish became Senator. He served as both Senator and Governor. The Lieutenant Governor channeled the pre-born ghost of Nungresser and said Huey vacated the Governor and he was now Governor. Huey disagreed and a memorable war between the two took place. It ended with Cyr being thrown out of the building and his things being placed on the street. Here are some articles I came across from the time while digging through some newspaper archives.

Some things should just come down to an old fashioned fist fight.

Interesting. I thought OK Allen took over after Huey went to the Senate. Must have been some interim period before Allen got elected Governor.

I kind of wonder how the same rural people that loved them some Huey Long rejected Bernie Sanders...

I was told it was because he always did what Huey wanted. Huey would would tell him to do something and he would always say "OK".
