I just checked my credit report and found out that I was turned over to a collections agency, Transfinancial in BR. The original bill was $200 from an Urgent Care clinic. They never sent me a bill in the mail and Transfinancial has yet to contact me via phone or mail.

I really need some advice here. I have good credit and this is bringing me down. I am planning to buy a house in the next 6 months to a year and I don't need this getting in the way. Is there any way to get this off my credit report without waiting 7 years.

Go to the clinic first and tell them it was an honest mistake, I never got a bill and then pay it that day. They will either contact transfinancial or remove it themselves.

If that doesn't work and they won't remove it, dispute it with transunion and equifax. They will typically remove it when you tell them you never got a bill. Happens all the time in the medical field. The billing department is the most incompetent employees I've ever seen. And I work in the medical field.
