Your schtick is widely known. Whether you admit it or not is of no consequence.

If you'd look at my post history on the Travel Board, you'd realize I'm not. And I fly Delta nearly 100% of the time. I just know how to act on a plane and what buying a ticket entails.
I've agreed multiple times it was inexplicable for UA to stop at $800 and they more than likely didn't adequately explain the situation. That still doesn't excuse the passenger from acting like a 3 year old.

It isn't a free market, bro. The airlines have an oligopoly. That works by completely different dynamics. I hate it when people espouse free market platitudes when they aren't applicable at all.

Why would I need a link if I said "whether you admitted it or not is of no consequence"? You are obsessed with "the board" and its general leanings. You brought gay marriage into a thread about united airlines so you could try to dig at the "board". i don't mind your schtick. I usually just ignore your posts because they are easily predictable and trite. Doesn't change the fact that your schtick is widely known.
Reminds me of how TX Tiger needs to make himself feel smart so he buys into all these conspiracy theories so he can call everyone else sheep. Your schtick is similar. Take the contrarian point of view to try and make yourself feel smart. Whatever works for you, buddy.

I am sure it's not in the contract to have the shut beat out of you.

That video would be gold, Jerry!

Not when they are wrong. The doctor was wrong.

If the employee was going on vacation, you would be right. they were going to get another airplane in the air. Think of the optics if they told the other passengers waiting for the other aircraft they can't go because they don't have a crew to fly the airplane? Then the next 4-5 flights that airplane might be scheduled to fly that day?

People who don't deal with contracts put way too much stock in them like they're these invincible hallowed objects that you are allowed to do anything you want to enforce and no one can ever break.

The airline didn't do that. They called airport security, as they should. The doctor was flailing his arms trying to keep security away from him. If they choose, they could lock the doctor up for trespassing, interfering with the operation of a flight....the charges could add up. They will settle for a small amount of money and a couple of free tickets.
As for the lawyer who would love to get this case? You would lose. You haven't even seen the carriage agreement, and you think it would be a slam dunk? I have major reservations that you are even a lawyer, to make such a statement.

I didn't say that you did. That doesn't make you less wrong.

I actually expected to fall on the side of "the board" on this one and make no comment.

I have a lot of fans here, but most of them don't pretend that they ignore my posts.

Dude. this contract has been tested over and over again. They (The airlines)know what is legally enforceable and what is not.

Dude. It's not going to matter what's legally enforceable.

Ok. Why not? he was saying that this contract would not protect the airline from civil damages. Please explain why it won't.

Because they're going to settle out of court before a trial.

This CEO will be out in a month. The bad press from this is phenomenal and now he's doubling down. Unreal. They beat a customer unconscious for refusing to give up his seat so a United employee could take it and then had to deplane everyone so they could clean up the blood. I don't think I've ever heard of worse PR.
Pretty much all of this. On top of that, he was a doctor who had a medical responsibility to patients.

"Fans"? Yikes. TxTiger has delusions of grandeur as well. I don't recall ever responding to one of your posts before. If this exchange has made me a fan in your eyes...so be it.

We finally agree!
But it won't be for tens of thousands of dollars or hundreds of thousand like I have see people predicting.
More like $1,000 and a couple of free tickets and an apology. It is possible he could get more, but only if there is more to the story than what I have seen.
ETA
Also, keep in mind a settlement will be based on both the doctor understanding his chances of winning and the airline just wanting it to go away.

You don't have to respond. Your weird comments of what is "widely known" about me is more than enough.
"Fans" is sarcastic. I think y'all are creepy as frick.
