Texas fans seem to forget that was a 3 way tie and they lost to TT

The same ranking Bill Self has in college basketball.

He's damn near identical to Bill Self in terms of regular season conference success.
OU had a time window from 00-05 where they really underachieved in the postseason. He had some absolutely loaded teams but always managed to drop 1 or 2 here and there. The LSU loss combined with the USC skulldragging put his program down a tier that they haven't gotten back to, including the Bradford years. That team was an offensive juggernaut but not as complete as his 00-05 teams. I'd put him top 15 maybe? He's a douche and I don't like him but it's probably where he belongs

Top 15. Conference championships are impressive but watered down because of the big 12 being weak. Where he gains respect is in top 10 and top 5 finishes and Championship game appearances.

What's funny about Stoops is that he's suppose to specialize on the defensive side of the ball, but Oklahoma has been more known for their prolific offenses the last 15 years.
I'll give him this - he has a knack of hiring great offensive coordinators. But he seems to have fallen into the same trap as every other Big 12 team in the last decade by sacrificing defense for offense.

He lost a lot of BCS games, but he also won all four BCS Bowls too

He has more Big 12 titles than home losses. That's damn impressive regardless.

05 had a clear #1 and #2. 08 had 12-1 OU, 12-1 UF, 11-1 USC, 11-1 Texas, plus 12-1 Alabama and 12-0 Utah.

Time to let it go, man.

OU didn't trip on themselves in 2008. That record setting offense was held to 14 points and 363 yards by one of CFB best defenses in SEC history.

I'll fact you up, no hard feelings.
From Wiki:
he 2008 Allstate BCS National Championship Game was played at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Monday, January 7, 2008, and featured the No. 1 and No. 2 college football teams in the United States as determined by the BCS Poll (a combination of polls and computer formulas) to decide the BCS National Championship for the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season.
The game featured No. 1 Big Ten champion Ohio State Buckeyes hosting No. 2 SEC champion LSU Tigers. It also featured the second postseason matchup between head coaches Jim Tressel and Les Miles in five years. The first occurrence was the 2004 Alamo Bowl, when Tressel's Buckeyes defeated Miles' Oklahoma State Cowboys, 33–7.

If Murray hadn't gotten hurt they beat Florida in 08

You realize we are talking about the 2008 season and your wiki citation is from the 2007 season, right?

You're incorrect. As you see, it was the 2007 season where LSU got the berth, the championship game was played in 1-2008.

Re-read the last few posts for clarification.

That 08 year was the best CFB season in recent memory, IMO.
You think it was better than 2005?
Completely different. 08 had at least 4 teams that were all worthy of being a national champion.
05 had 2 all time great level teams that were on a collision course the entire season. There was no question that one of those teams was winning the national title. Fans were rewarded with the greatest game (in any sport) of this century.

He's a notch about Les Miles.

Fwiw, we were the best team out of the Big 12 and would have been the best matchup for Florida.
-We beat OU by 10.
-Lost on the road to Tech with 1 second left to play.
-Tech, later, was blown out by 44 points to OU.
