Knowing where it's headed should make it easy for sub hunters to find.

When is the last time the US announced where a sub is headed?

While nuclear power is a real threat, it truely is outdated as well. The technology that we know about and what we DONT know about is unreal with the US military

Also consider this, NASA's new planet survey satellite can detect the heat signature on a bumble-bee on the moon. Military tech is usually decades ahead of NASA. I'd guess we can detect from space the temperature variance around a submerged sub from the friction of the water passing over the hull quite easily.

My dad was a commander during the Cold War on the SSBN Daniel Boone. Pretty cool to get his perspective on this.

It also bugs the crap out of me the he has medals for stuff he can't tell me about

Russias economy is in the gutter like everyones...

But...unlike us, I imagine they have not been downsizing. But we have been somewhat keeping up with classified military stuff.

Imagine Russia and China combining their militaries.

Yeah but it wouldn't have mattered. The survivors weren't in the escape hatch and at a certain point there was a flash fire and those who weren't burned to death asphyxiated. Sitting there in freezing water in the dark and then that shite

Horrible

Nightmare.

Getting burnt alive in a t34 on the Russian front is also a bad one.

For reference, the Typhoon class submarine is the same type of submarine from Hunt for Red October. It's a big beast. No caterpillar drive though.
