The Zagreb to Dubrovnik flights can be a problem. Dubrovnik is notoriously windy. My flight to Dubrovnik was aborted during the final descent due to high winds. Had to land in Split and take a bus, about a 4 hour ride as I recall. On the return, the flight out of Dubrovnik was cancelled. Another bus ride to Split and then flight to Zagreb. In Dubrovnik I stayed at the Hilton just outside the wall. It was awesome. You can probably spend 2 days in Dubrovnik but any more isn't necessary.

I just spent two weeks in Croatia last month with my wife and 3 teenage kids. I am still trying to upload photos for a Travel Board review of Dubrovnik, Kotor (Montenegro), Hvar, Stari Grad, Split, and Trogir. Stay tuned and feel free to ask questions.

What time of year was this? I can't find much about this online but what I did find said that this was primarily in the winter?
