I love bowhunting and love turkey hunting but that guy is a dick for posting that on FB.
I know it can happen but that is as disrepectful to bowhunting as it is to the bird itself

Not to mention it was a shitty shot on top of all that

He's shooting a broadhead that is designed for headshots. It's called the guillotine or something like that. I read somewhere on an outfitter's website recently they were requiring bow hunters to use them and take headshots only, to prevent poor placement on body shots. The outfitter's take was that the headshots result in either a clean kill or miss, rather than wounding a turkey that isn't retrieved.

Yeah they are guillotine heads, 3-4 long blades up to like 2" so a possible 4 inch wide broadhead that are meant to shoot at the head/ neck and basically do exactly like the video shows.

I don't know why anyone would shoot anything else. There are some guys that still prefer the normal broadhead body shot but they are much more iffy shots than shooting a guillotine at the head.

video of turkey getting de-capitated with guillotine broad head - this is the end result.

I bow hunt turkey but use a different BH and different shot placement

OK...I wasn't aware of that broadhead and the thought process going on here.
I rescind my previous comments, but still don't think it's a great idea to be posting it up on FB, IMHO.

And if I still turkey hunted , I would personally still go with the typical vitals shot.
But that's just me
