Speedy was better than OBJ and anybody that watched football in NO will confirm that. He is a rare talent and a rare head case.
Development doesn't stop in HS. Odell was better in college in a shite system and he's infinitely better than Speedy could ever be in the NFL. He won't score 10 NFL touchdowns

I like it cause it's a contrarian take as far as names that haven't showed on here over and over.
Pretty realistic to me

I don't mind 11 pick, I get it if butler deal doesn't happen. Not very crazy about most the rest of the picks. TE pick and OL pick make sense but honestly I don't want some right tackle name Julie. Rest of picks I really don't care for

Agree. But if Speedy somehow gets his shite together (doubtful) he would be a tremendous value pick.

But could be a locker room cancer and hurt the team also.
In the later rounds in my opinion I am looking your potential but would not risk the locker room for it.

He really wouldn't. He's a dime a dozen talent IMO

I'm fine with it but this place would be in full on melt
To be fair, this board is going to melt hard when we don't pick the same 3-5 names that have been regurgitated here for the last 4 months, like every draft.

Unless the 1st 4 pics are LSU... it will melt.

We're not going to take a cornerback with the 11th pick. Cornerback is the deepest position in the draft this year.
couple thoughts here
after reviewing the board for weeks now, I feel like we are in no mans land at 11. We are likely going to miss out on the big time DL' & safeties that i mentioned in my 2nd choice. If one of them falls, then we can justifiably take them at 11. Ideally we trade back and look at Barnett or one of the CBs, but knowing the Saints, they are more likely to trade up into the top 10 and grab a player they like.
If we keep the pick, the best value here will be at LB. ie Reuben Foster or newly talked about Hasaon Reddick. However I have a feeling we are comfortable with our LBs. I think both of those guys could give us solid time in year 1.
However our best bet would be to look at the CB, being its our biggest need, especially if the Butler trade doesnt happen. We need to come away with 2 CBs in the top 3 rounds if that is the case.
Conley is well built (6'0" 190), fast (4.45), and has long arse arms (33"). He has good pedigree and is arguably the highest upside player at the position.
as for the Speedy Noil pick, frick guys its a 7th round pick. The dude is worth a look at WR being that he can play the slot and is also athletic enough to play the outside. There arent guys available that late with such a dynamic athletic profile.

Again all well reasoned.
Honestly I know everyone (myself included) is kind of locked into DE at 11 but I'm not going to be shocked at all if they go CB, HB, LB, TE, WR, QB, or S (if one falls) at that pick. The Saints can be very "unique" with how they value players.
The positions I don't see value in (aside from the obvious K, P, FB) are Oline (no great looking tackles or guards that can kick out in the value there), and DT/Big End (locked down and no real value here outside of one guy if he falls).
In other words any non K/P/FB under 280 is fair game.

Didn't Bucky or someone from NFLN mock him there?
Don't lie, that's the only reason you picked him. It's cute though.

i just think CB, LB and prob TE are the best value's at 11. Then the McCaffery factor. CB is the biggest need of that group so thats what i went with

I do like Conley in the sense of you just never know with the Saints. We always tend to have a big name on the board and go elsewhere. This is kind of why I preach Reddick from Temple, small school stud who doesn't talk and lets his play do the talking.

I know things have been really quiet lately, but I still think the Butler trade happens
If not, then I can absolutely see them going corner at 11

Last season was the first time in a while where the pick ended up being who most expected it to be. Most here had Rankins as the pick, most analysts as well.

Would be fapping each day of this happened
