I've been doing rehab by this guy and I have gotten a chance to speak with him a few times.

To my surprise, he's been very nice and appears to be very humble. I asked about his Uncle and he said he was doing fine and thank me for asking.

I can tell you this, he is working his arse off in rehab. The dude is ALWAYS there no matter what time of day I come in.

He seems like he would be a steal in the 5th round. Let him sit behind Brees for 2-3 years like Aaron Rodgers did with Farve.

Kid was just as talented as any QB in the nation last year. Would love to snag him late.

For me its:

Mahomes (32/42)
Kelly (6th round)

Either one and I'm happy as either could be the future.

Chad Kelly seems to have a lot of Brett Farve in him. All I know about Mahones is he is from Texas Tech and they throw the ball, A LOT!!

Wait, was he the kid in the bowl game against us(LSU) that kept completing passes while we were crushing him?

Just looked it up, OK yeah, wow. That kid is legit!

I don't see Kelly getting drafted at all more less use a 5th round pick on him. Dude is a headcase but very talented.

Didn't we interview JFF?

See this was my whole point to this thread. He doesn't seem that way at all. That's what I thought until I met the kid. He's a hard worker and "seemed" to be very polite and nice.

No, Sean Payton had breakfast with him during the super bowl festivities. We never worked him out or interviewed him.

That was just Ian with the splash news

Aaron Hernendez was polite too. And no, I'm not saying he's Hernendez, but he's got a history of bad decisions, which is part of the reason he may go undrafted.

"I'm going to go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place"
-Chad Kelly to the police

Then you have the whole incident at the high school football game, and getting dismissed from Clemson. He's a hothead as of now, but talented

And I'm not saying I would be against taking a chance on him in the 6th or 7th, but I just can't see us bringing him in

He greatly struggled on deep balls and the sideline throws last year too

You wouldn't run to your brother's aid if you saw him in a fight?

Not for or against chad kelly, but this is overblown. coming from a guy with a little brother, i'd think less of him if he didn't want to help his brother.

Maybe if it was just the incident by itself, but it isn't. It's a history.

And no, I wouldn't storm the field of a fricking high school football game

Hes young. Many people are hotheads when theyre in their late teens early 20's and then cool off as the testosterone flow slows in their mid-to-late 20's. Maybe sitting around with guys like Brees all day can help humble and mature him earlier than expected. I imagine he already comes from money so thats one less X factor in his pro career to worry about.

His arm talent and grit is undeniable and would be hard to pass in the late-late rounds.

Im really suspicious of any QBs from Texas Tech. Despite leading the NCAA in passing nearly every year since forever remind me again, how many NFL starters have they had?

The same could be said for almost any team in the country though, and the same was also said about Brees

Not based on the numbers in college. Texas Tech always leads in passing and it seems to fool NFL scouts who have the starting QB for Tech in the first 3 rounds every few years. These guys never pan out despite the numbers. They are more of a system QB. That doesnt mean they cant be good it just means that in the case of Tech you have to filter out the numbers when evaluating.

What? He'll be the first tech QB drafted in 13 years.

The last TT QB drafted was in 2004 in the 7th round.

Their only QB taken in the top 3 rounds was in 1989.

They've had 5 QBs drafted ever.

Edit: to put this in perspective, LSU has had 4 QBs drafted since 2004.

exactly

Mahomes is on a different planet as far as TTU QBs.

Go watch what he did against LSU while getting absolutely pummeled. The kid is a gamer, with great athleticim and a rocket arm. If he has it up top, he can be a top QB one day.
