I'll never understand why someone would try to steal a cell phone. It's probably the easiest thing to track.

I think it is safe to assume here that the suspect (pictured above in original post) is not very smart.

I've had my cell phone stolen before (out of my vehicle) and Florida's finest told me that I was basically SOL. Apparently, this is big business in Florida as all of the stolen cell phones end up getting consolidated in Miami and then shipped to South America where they are no longer traceable. I'm not saying this guy was going to sell the phone to some South American smugglers...just stating that it is not always as easy to track as one may think, that's all.

You are giving them far too much credit in the intelligence category. I'm surprised he didn't facebook live the event on one of his other stolen phones.
