Yeah even if harden falls apart and they lose out he still wins it. The only thing that kills me about his game is his sometimes spotty shot selection and the turnovers.

Not really. The dude has the ball every single play. Look at the box score. He doesn't make his teammates better. He's a great player, don't get me wrong. He is one of my favorites and I have been a big supporter over the years, but the Thunder have talent and they basically have to stand around and watch him do his thing. He will win you OT games against Orlando but in the end, he's going to lead his team to at best the 5th seed. He's had an amazing even historical season but it won't be a shame when he doesn't win it.
and Harden does? Kanter has better advanced numbers across the board with Westbrook than he ever had with Utah.
Oladipo is better in some, worse in others. Same with Gordon and Anderson for Houston compared to NOLA.
let me know what talent you're referring to. Because it surely isn't Abrines, Roberson, Gibson, and whoever else can't hit an open shot to save their lives. reality is, houston has the overall better team.
Oladipo = Gordon
Kanter = Anderson
Adams = Capela
Houston has Ariza, Bev, and Lou Williams who was just as good as Gordon as a '6th' man while in LA.
That's better than anything else the Thunder put on the court.

No I never once said that. If you gotta make stuff up, clear sign that you're losing.

Yea bc the oddsmakers don't say harden is the clear leader either it is just me.

If you read the article he turns it over less than Leonard if you take usage into account.

No I'd say they are in communication w enough voters to set a solid line.

Box plus minus looks only at the box score. And not efficiency. He hits on that in the article.

Odds will be changing shortly

and Harden does?
Yes, but I would give coach a lot of credit too.

I agree. I think Harden is the better fit, too.

I'm sure they will but not enough To make up for James being 6.5x more likely to win currently.
Posted on 3/29/17 at 10:06 pm to buckeye_vol
Advanced stuff is part of the equation. Definitely not the end all be all.
Posted on 3/29/17 at 10:07 pm to slackster
quote:Wait, so when adjusted for pace, Westbrook is responsible for more points than Harden?
and Westbrook is responsible for 51% of the points the Thunder score per game while Harden is responsible for 49% of the points Houston scores.

quote:OK you're going to need to post that. I see Harden's the favorite, but nothing that would indicate 6.5X more likely to win.

After the way you got your arse handed to you the other day, you sure you want to go this route again?
Is that the thread why you cried and whined about how the MVP voters vote then told me I was retarded for caring about the voters who you were whining about? Is that the one where you handed my arse to me?
quote:Just another melt from Port, the usual.
I don't see rolltide or pride around to provide that reassurance.

You edited after I had already responded
I'm not going to argue much with you. I agree that Houston has the better team, but it's funny that all of these dudes preseason weren't as highly regarded by experts or the MSB as most had Houston lower than OKC. Now it's just so obvious to everyone how much better the Rockets are because it fits the narrative you're trying to push. It don't have to be that way.
And I get that Gordon and Anderson are healthy...but all of that aside, none of you would have picked Houston as the 3 seed at the beginning of the year even if you knew that they would be healthy. No one was saying "The Rockets could be really good if their guys stay healthy..."
I'm not going to sit here and shite on Westbrook because he's been great, but Harden has elevated his game. Although he has had the ball in his hands in prior years, he changed positions the best 2 guard in the league bought into playing pg. He's now leading the league in assists, leads the league in double doubles and has his team right behind San Antonio and GSW. He's deserving of the MVP.

True but Kawhi doesn't have as much talent to work with. He has to create more with less and isn't a developed ball handler.
