Looking to get about 60sqft of granite and backsplash installed. Stopped by this place that was giving $10 per sqft on the style we liked. Thought that was crazy low and figured if they don't charge crazy for installation, we may have found our people. Just got the installation, polish, etc back and it was $1950. Does that sound normal or are they over charging their installation to make it seem like you're getting a good deal on the granite at $10 per sqft? Total was about $2600 for 65 sqft.
make sure they have the equipment to properly cut the granite so you have minimal lines. I know they have some asians that do it around lafayette but they justbuy the granite and cut it on site so you end up with alot of lines.

His price was with installation but you should always ask where your seams will be.

That's what I thought it looked like too. Viaterra makes some really good looking products.

I would go with subway tile for backsplash to save some money. As for $10/sf for granite that just does not seem right to me. We have white quartz and it ran around $75/sf from Triton. The bathrooms have granite and I think we paid around $60/sf.
Not sure what we paid for installation but it's usually cheaper if you get it installed by the people who bought it from.

Just recently signed a contract on granite countertops... I was talking with 4 different fabricators throughout the time I was looking.
Same slabs, 4 different prices, ranging from $85/sf to $49/sf
The Caesarstone quartz that I originally wanted would have been $110/sf and I would have had to pay out of pocket over the contractor allowance. Decided to go the granite route instead

I've seen some ubatuba reminants in the $25/ft range but never seen $10/ft2. No one here does 2cm but I know it's popular in LA. I've got quartzite everywhere inside but did black pearl honed on out door kitchen and its sharp, paid $35/ft2 installed for it.

I got them to give me the leftovers, cooktop hole cutout, etc. Paid an install worker on the side to shape them and polish the edges. Bought steel stands at an outdoor furniture place and made patio tables out of them.

Only reason I recognized it is because we're looking to redo our countertops, and my wife loves that one.

Still have 2 more quotes so hoping so get a little better and then let them battle it out. It's funny how some people give outlandish quotes when they don't want a job rather just saying not interested. Had a quote for $4800 from one company.
We had something similar, but opposite. Guy told me I was overpaying to have my patio done. Was 10$ sq ft stamped, with a fire pit in the middle.
He was bidding for my sod work and irrigation though, needed 1500 square feed, area prepped and irrigation installed. His original offer was 4800.
I told him nah we had another bid for 3600 so we'd have to pass. He goes I'll do it for 3400. Damnnn

You got raped if it's 2cm Giallo.
At $10/sq. ft. the seams are probably next to the sink or near the dishwasher.
