That's fine training if I had to throw the gun up quick to shoot a bird/clay. I'm talking about sitting steady, with a shooting stick, taking my time to aim at my target, and it shoots high. Why is a new 870 designed differently than my older 870?

It shouldn't be. There's a possibility that a defect gun was built, although I'm not sure how you could frick up building an 870 and all 4 of it's parts.
