He's completely different in an equally shitty way

Hey hey ho ho
Paul Mainieri has got to go
Paul Mainieri has got to go

as in Paul used a fake a job offer to trick Joe into a contract extension and now he's gotten complacent again? Yeah probably

He sucks the same way miles did. Great recruiter shitty coach in crunch time

I do enjoy that this myth won't die

That is such a fukn lazy and irresponsible comparison....Unfortunately, it also happens to seem pretty fukn accurate at the same time. With some of the most superior talent in the country, in-game coaching leaves me scratching my head nearly every game.

This comparison has been going on for several years now!!

And with each passing year it seems to gain a lil more validity

No this comparison is awful. Miles refused to change from his conservative offense and open up more of a passing game. Mainieri opened up his offense from bunting the ball to just about always swinging and having his runners steal and doing a lot of hit and runs. I can't think of a team that was the most talented that won in recent years. College baseball is not the same anymore and it's always the team that executes the best not the most talented team

Must have been playing for the win. Just forgot to tell his batters that this requires not striking out.
If that's not the case, there is no excuse to gamble and risk wasting our guy on 2 with 0 out.

While you are correct that College Baseball is a different animal than College FootblalI, I don't think I'm going out on a limb here when I say the biggest head scratchers with CPM have to do with pitching decisions rather than offensive/batting.

Yes, he's starting to remind me of the Les after the 01-09-12 21-0 Debacle; a slow and steady descent into mediocrity that was not recognized by the Athletic Director until it was too late and then acted upon too late.
I recently started referring to him as "Milesinieri" and that will stick for the next few years that it will take for the LSU Athletic Admins to recognize and act.
Of course, all the Pumpers and MA'ing "That's Baseball" crowd adore and worship him like they did Les. Like Joey Boy, they'll be late in recognition of what's playing out in front of their eyes as well, but a few already see it............

He loses games that he shouldn't and digs himself a hole that he can't get out of in critical situations....next year will be interesting when he loses his top two pitchers...

If he's just starting to remind you of Miles, then you must not be a big follower of LSU baseball. His questionable coaching skills have been on display for several years now.
