You can tell who's in the "pajama crowd" by reading the replies in this thread. The "gimme my handout and free shite at the expense of everyone else" crowd.

What caused oil prices to drop so low? Remember.. I think it was Summer of 08 when oil prices were $120+ a barrel. What caused it to go from being that high to where we are today?

Shouldn't the standard OT response be to find another job? Why work in a field that is failing?

Obama was too friendly with the Middle East and they kept pumping oil

Do you think trump can have them slow production?

Probably not. The middle east will never have the safety regulations the U.S. has. Therefore, they will always produce cheaper oil. Plus, they have more of it.

Over production in the U.S. caused the bust. It's also what's keeping the prices stagnant.

It's not easy for 40,000 people with very specific skills/trades to just go get another decent job.

What did Obama have to do in the Summer of 08. Bush was still the president.

It will get there just gonna take some more time, i was laid off July '15 after 18 yrs (technical manager)for a MWD company.
I went by the office just the other day just to see how everyone was doing, they are only working 3 days a week and and outlook for this summer is still not looking that good, 3rd and 4th quarter hopefully the uptick starts but who knows.

It's hard right now. I have tons of bills and not a lot of income coming in. I had to sell my new mustang as soon as I heard the news
