Help me with this: So i guess N. Korea thinks the US wants to invade its shithole

The article linked below discusses N. Korea leaders stating that they want to have a strike first ICBM due to the US military exercises with S. Korea and its want for more sanctions.
While reading the article it struck me how out of touch that little pudgy bastard really is.
He must really think that the US wants to invade his country that is full of poverty so we can take on that humanitarian crisis and make it our own, create more tensions with the Chinese, endanger US troops, etc.
He really has a superiority complex. There is literally NOTHING for the US to gain by invading N. Korea.
The reality is he, nor his military, will ever directly threaten the continental US. He has to know that if we decided to we could have him and his gov't removed by force, I would estimate in 48- 72 hours.
What must it be like to be that delusional?!?!

1st he doesn't think he is delusional, he thinks we are; that is why he is as dangerous as he says we are because he is talking about himself and his own plans - Projection
He is as dangerous as he appears and so is the situation, Japan is smart to start planning as they have.

I really wish *another* foreign power would take out KJU. The guy is such a cancer to his country and has perfected mind fricking down to a science.
We were pissed about Saddam and Assad for killing their own people, yet this guy does it daily and he's still in power.

I was thinking after the assassination of his brother China might step in. I think they have to wonder how much crap he could bring to their doorstep so to speak.

In all honesty, do you really think he thinks that his "military" can really put up any type of resistance either offensively or defensively against the US?? No way he is that delusional. From all accounts he is a fan of US cinema. Surely, he has seen the arsenal and technology at our disposal.
This leads me to believe that he says all these things all for show.

There is literally NOTHING for the US to gain by invading N. Korea.

What you see today has been going on since Korea was divided. The portrayal of another power that is hell bent on destroying NK has been their meme used to keep their populace ignorant and afraid allowing them to control their people.
It's not a matter if he's delusional, it's matter of state policy to keep their famished citizens focused on anything but their miserable existence.

No or at least hopefully no (the Juche bubble is the thing that makes North Korea actually going batshit one day a small possibility that does give me pause) -- he's just doing what Dear Old Dad did-- sabre rattle for a pittance because like 50% of his GDP is devoted to defense and there's not really another option (there's no real easy detente here either- he can't shift funds away from defense both ideologically and practically that would risk making the whole house of cards collapse: the former because of decades of conditioning built upon the idea that the outside world poses an dire threat; the latter because even in an authoritarian regime you can't piss off too many elites at once).

N Korea is that kid in high school that talks the most shite but when he goes too far gets KTFO

I have serious doubts about this, at least among the South Korean elite-- they have to see how German reunification knocked Deutschland's economic development back a decade and East Germans were just communists with ton of spys; the North Koreans are almost a separate people at this point- Juche is an absurd ideology that large segments of the North Korean populace at least putatively believe with a religious fervor.

Out of touch to us, but he and his family have been riding on the tiger that is N Korea for 70+ years.

China has had his back since the war! He gains by being the delusional, crazy, dangerous, and unpredictable bad boy of Asia. And China gains from American hope that they will control him one day! Never going to happen.

Think of another decade of unmolested missile and atomic development. Might be time to divest your West Coast property!

Our forces are their to serve as a trip wire. If he goes south, the 2nd Korean War starts with America as a combatant. American forces are not strong enough for an offensive. Actually our forces are not strong enough to stop him. They are designed to stall his attack so that reinforcements can arrive!

In a losing conventional military conflict, NK leaders would attempt to deploy Nukes against SK and Japan. They'd have not a chance in the world landing a Nuke on US soil. They know that. They also know the more realistic threats to SK and possibly Japan keep them safe from southern incursion.

I doubt it, I think he knows he has to keep his people in a state of paranoia and victimization for his regime to survive. He went to school in the West, he know ho things are in the outside world.

NK will never fire a nuke (if they even have the capability). As soon as they did, we'd shoot it out of the sky and/or glass the whole country within a couple of hours.
Posted on 3/21/17 at 4:43 pm to Covingtontiger77
they are hoping we do, so we can feed them....

The Chinese are getting tired of his fat arse too. They don't want the U.S. to invade and be a step closer to their mainland. But, they understand he has to be reigned in.

I doubt he, or anyone with real power in NK, believe that. He just uses the threat of an invasion as a means to an ends. If his people are spending time and energy concentrating on an external threat, they don't have time to concentrate on him.
