Isn't it a home and home or 250,000? The buyout is legally the responsibility of the departing coach. If LSU declined the home and home, then Wade is on the hook for 250,000 to VCU. Under normal circumstances the new school (or more specifically in many cases the boosters) assumes responsibility for paying out the buyout as part of the recruitment package.

So no, VCU can't enforce a home and home stipulation without LSU agreeing. But they can legally enforce the 250,000 buyout in lieu of the home and home.

Possibly it said that any school he goes to must play them or pay 250,000?
