We are traveling in this weekend to take an inland guided fishing trip in Venice, La. There are just 3 of us for a one day on the water so i was curious as to what a standard to good tip would be for the guide.

we are all pretty novice so i assume he will be working pretty hard to help us out.

TIA.

$50 bucks a head. You're already paying him for his service, so don't feel obliged to pay him too much.

Yeah....I don't know. The only guided trips I've ever been on were on Fork with me and one other guy plus the guide in the boat. We bought the guy's lunch and had at least a decent day the first time....but tipping $50 on top of the 400 we already paid for the day seems like a good number, IF it was a pretty good day, and he was a great host.

Whats his total daily fee?

I think it varies but the poster that responded 50$ a head is definitely a good number if he cleans fish. If he doesn't, 100$ probably good.

I never understood tipping for services when you have already paid for said service. Especially if the guide is the owner/operator. I can understand tipping a guide who doesn't own the operation because he doesn't take in all the fees.

And yes, I know it's polite and a tip of the cap for good service and I always tip. It just has always seemed strange to me.

While it aas an option, we booked this trip 3 months ago and had no idea. How the weather would be. We are going to see how this goes then drop the big bucks next time. Should ne fun either way.
