I realize that it's just two practices but you can sense the excitement and optimism of the players for Canada's methods and schemes.
Everything that has been reported just validates what we witnessed from Miles' offense, which actually got worse over time- the predictability, the lack of motion, misdirection etc.
You also get the sense that, even accepting our apparent lack of great QB talent, a different coaching staff would have gotten more out of the position than Miles and Cam did.

I could care less about any viable offensive schemes learned at practice, all I care about are the results from the Big Cat Drills.

all you need is a SYSTEM don't need a Tom Brady or Drew Brees a QB just someone who fits the system and knows it

That stuff isn't magic.
Malzahn is one of the greaterst minds in multiple offense, yet with similar recruiting rank has slightly worse W/L record than LSU in the past 4 years as HC.

I'm sure I'm going to take a lot of flack for this, but good offensive scheme or no, we don't have the kind of talent on offense that we did a decade ago. Simple fact.

Russell, Flynn, Bowe, Davis, Doucet, Addai

v.

Etling, Chark, Gage, Guice

Love those guys and what they do for LSU, but the decline in talent is real and it will take Coach O a few years to change that. Temper your expectations, folks.

Canada clearly knows what he's doing, is intense and is much, much > Cam.

And the Miles cultists were silenced after Les was unable to land a HC job after having a head start to do so after being canned so early in the season.

I was always behind Les because he was the coach and is clearly a stellar human being. But a decent coach at best, not a good or great one. Ran a clean program and kept the talent coming in, and I'm thankful.

I feel that we are very lucky that the program still sits where it does, that we haven't had the major crash after a high flight (see Nebraska, Miami).

Orgeron bringing in a creative and unpredictable OC, in Canada as well as retaining and securing Aranda, may be the best thing to happen to LSU in the last 9 seasons.

By the end of the season, half the rant will want the guy fired!

After 2013 many of our clowns wanted Cam as head coach. Two years later the same guys wanted him fired!

the predictability,

You clearly dont watch other programs in cfb. Lsu under miles ran out of more formation than 95% of cfb you just don't watch those other programs the way you watch lsu. All those great spread offenses ran the same 12 plays over and over. Chip Kelly's entire playbook consists of 4 running plays.

Line play will be crucial. If we get the line playing consistently, we will have a chance at being contenders. We have quality skill players and scheme at the college level can cover for mediocre to average qb play. Dominant defense and improved special teams can also shorten the field and help offense. Our talent level at most position are very good. Big question is on o-line
