DFW radio (105.3): Dallas not likely to cut Romo now

Was listening to the Fan and reportedly the dumbass move Houston made has made Dallas move to possibly not releasing Romo because of an apparent and desperate multi-team market for him now.
They're reportedly thinking they can get a 3-5th for him.

Dumbass move by Houston?

Houston getting rid of Osweiller and his contract is anything but dumb.

The one that Dallas is reportedly seeing as a desperation move to shift cap and sign Romo.
I mean it works for Houston either way if you ask me, gets dumbass money off the books. Radio guys are just saying Dallas sees it as desperation and will likely not release him now and milk a pick.

Not a dumbass move by houston at all, but it really does give us (Dallas) some actual leverage now. Hopefully we can pull off some kind of win-win trade and get something to show for it.

That is the dumb part.
They didn't have to make that move today. It could have been a verbal and announced after Romo is gone.
It just kind of screws them in the race and could cost another pick.

Or Cleveland wanted it done

Cleveland could have waited til Romo was released then bent Houston over on the back end since they're one of the few if not only team willing to buy that pick.
Could have gotten a first out of it

If I'm Houston I 100% give a 4th round pick for him. I'd take 2-3 years of Romo and the chance at a title no question. QB is the only hole on that team. Instant favorites behind NE for the AFC.

True.
Basically there is nothing dumb here. If there's an opportunity to dump osweiller and his contract, you take it. Figure out how to get Romo after

Just saw some baw on twitter tweet that Houston won't trade for Romo no matter what.
Guess it's up to see if Dallas wants to play hardball or not.
I see it playing out as it would have originally, but this is an interesting curve.

he wasn't going to play in Houston anyway, they were going to find another option as a starting QB "somehow" so they found away out of being stuck paying starting money for a backup QB for many years
dallas just seeing the market and realizing room still has value, something will happen but I doubt they get a 3rd for him, maybe 4th or 5th isn't hard to believe but whoever gets him better have really good protection for him or he will get hurt again.
talking heads all saying Houston has the best o-line out of the teams who would want him so that's the best place for him

Oline angle is overrated. He was already playing behind the best line in football. That's not why he gets hurt

I have heard Dallas is going after a 2018 conditional pick based on starts in the season
0-1 starts = 6th round
2-3 starts = 5th round
4-6 Starts = 4th round
7-8 starts = 3rd round
9+ = 2nd round
Not saying that would be the buckets, but something like that is evidently what the cowboys were going for in their initial market evaluation.

We completely disagree.
If you're made of glass, it stands to reason the more hits you take the greater the chance of you getting injured.

You're not gonna find a line that makes you untouchable. He just doesn't know how to fall
