Lake martin looks to only be about 1.4mi x 0.5mi. Is that accurate? Seems like it wouldnt take many boats to fill that mfer up pretty quickly? Chicot is narrow, but its about 4mi long, and there are time when it seems like there are boats every where.

It's not a big lake. More like a really big pond. The boat traffic doesn't often get that bad in there.

I usually only fish it in the winter time. By summer time the grass and lily pad growth will be so bad it'll almost be unfishable. However, I've had some good frog action on top of that grass in the spring and fall.

Ive been also looking for places to fish off the bank around here just for practice. There a place called poches rv in breaux bridge that has some stocked ponds. Anyone been there? Also, the henderson pontoon bridge, and a little place off i10 in jennings where they have the alligators. And opinions of these? Any other suggestions on places to get my line wet, and learn how to wiggle it?
