why the continued disdain?

Because his terrible coaching has seriously damaged the basketball program. Certainly, it is mostly Joe Alleva's fault for hiring and keeping someone so clearly over their head. But JJ is still collecting those paychecks.

Do you think Johnny didn't try? Do you think he should refuse money he is contractually entitled too?

Johnny was in over his head. Way over his head. But that doesn't make him a bad person and it doesn't mean he was trying to stick it to the the University or to you personally. Don't personalize events that do not warrant it.

I'm in that majority who wanted Johnny fired. Not because he was a bad person, but because he was a bad coach. Now it has happened. Best of luck to Johnny as a former Tiger, as person and as a coach. I hope he has a lot of success wherever he ends up.

LSU basketball has been shite for a long time. You people are jaded. When has LSU really ever did anything in hoops? 1960? Lol. Sure you have an outlier season or two here and there, but for the most part we are the dregs of SEC basketball.

Sure we shouldn't be content with that, but to say that JJ ruined or damaged the LSU basketball program makes you look like a fricking idiot.
