My wife, excuse me for claiming her as mine (you get the drift), is all for equal this and that as I am. According to my wife, she has no problem with the women's movement of today. What she vehemently denies though is the way the movement has been overrun with the movement being led by angry women. She says that only hurts your cause.
I'd agree.
I'd agree.

so instead of explaining your views and how I could be mistaken, Like others have done already and I appreciate it, You attack me. I bet you are a peach to be around if that is the attitude you have in real life.

But if the gays don't have kids, how will we ever get to 30 billion!?

Considering I don't have any Kids I'm all in on this one. I get absolutely decimated by taxes every year.

I don't have the time or patience to dissect that drivel via hunting/ pecking on an iPad.
And I'm not exactly known for "peach"iness. But I am known to be a helluva lotta fun. Just not very PC and don't give 2 shites about it.

OP is on point.
And, with a bit of a unique take too.
Kudos

My biggest gripe with taxes is that we get so little ROI. I wouldn't have a problem with paying taxes if I actually benefited from them. Paying for senators and reps to have awesome healthcare doesn't help me. Federal income tax is a racket.

my biggest gripe about them taking on social issues - the waste and inefficiency
So you don't like stocking Pelosi wet bar on her private plane back to Cali?

the death penalty also serves as vengeance for the victims and their loved ones
The focus of our criminal justice system should not be vengeance. It should be rehabilitation. Killing someone doesn't bring anyone else back to life. I totally understand why someone would want to hurt someone who has hurt them, but I respectfully disagree with that approach to justice.

there isn't a prohibition in the Bible that the State cannot take a life through its own mechanisms.
Jesus said that we should worship the heavenly Father before earthly kings. "Thou shalt not kill" is one of the 10 commandments. I don't see how you can argue that the Bible doesn't take a stance on the death penalty.

Exactly. While middle class Americans struggle to pay for childcare so they can work 2 and 3 jobs to make ends meet.

When I as a single man I never understood, and still don't, why a person that is the least drain on the American government has to pay the highest rate of taxes. I don't care how you look at it, that's just totally messed up.

Prisons were designed for inmates to do penitence for their crimes (why they are called "penitentiaries"), but now they are more designed for security and control.

He also said give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's.

Genesis 9:6. Also the apostle Paul in the New Testament. Jesus only advocated for mercy in the case of the adulterous woman. To take that case and expand it as a prohibition on the death penalty is a reach

Republicans are anti-welfare? Link?
You want to really compare the death penalty applied to a mass murderer and the chopping up of a small human in a womb? I'd be happy to go there with you.

I didn't make that comparison. I was simply stating how being pro-life and pro-death can be conflicting. You can spin it however you want but stating all life is precious as your main argument. Then turning around and saying we should expand the death penalty and use it more do not match up.

Based off of the many comments off of this message board. And the many complaints of republicans I know about having to pay for the "Piece of trash that lives down the road and has 5 kids and no job"
Paraphrasing of course because actual quote would probably lead to me being banned.

No one is comparing the morality of the lives in question. Death is death. The termination of a life is still the termination of a life - even if you don't like the person/life in question.
It's one thing to say someone deserves to die. It's another to actually murder the person. What makes the murderer of that person better than the person murdered in the name of vengeance? They're both murderers.
